‘Blessed’ Army Nurse Awarded Legion of Merit in Campus Event
By Chris Bryant When duty calls, retired Col. Marietta Stanton answers. As an Army Reserve officer, Stanton, director of UA’s Capstone College of Nursing’s graduate school program, donned a military uniform at least one weekend each month for the past 29 years. Four years ago, the frequency with which she pulled the Army green from her closet increased. She was activated in the U.S. Army and deployed to Fort Gordon, Ga., where she served for 13 months as senior case manager, clinical operations, at the Southeast Regional Command. More News:
