McLure Library to Renovate Book Stacks During Summer

The McLure Education Library will be renovating its book stacks this summer. All books and periodicals will be removed from the stacks area and will not be retrievable during the renovation. The School Library and Curriculum Materials will continue to be available all summer. Many journals will continue to be available electronically. It is only the professional research part of the collection located in the book stacks that will be unavailable this summer. The move is tentatively scheduled to begin on May 12, pending negotiations with the vendor. The project should be completed by July 24. Requests for materials that have been removed will be filled by a rush interlibrary loan or a rush purchase, depending on the item.

Faculty are asked to please inform the McLure librarians or staff if there are books to put on reserve for classes this summer. Faculty are encouraged to check out books they need for research right away. Faculty check-out privileges allow you to have the books through Sept. 30. These requests and check-outs must be made before May 9. Reserves from electronic sources will continue; the library staff prefers a two-week notice to place items on reserve. The Reference Collection, Curriculum Material Center and School Library Collection will be available all through this renovation process.
