posterCaribbean Film Festival
The department of modern languages and classics will host its Caribbean Film Festival in November. All films will start at 7 p.m. in 109 B.B. Comer. Maruja (1959), the first box office success of Puerto Rican cinema, will be shown Nov. 1. It is the story of a beautiful and sensual woman that awakens the interest of several men with tragic results. Comments will be given by Dr. Rosita E. Villagómez, assistant professor in Spanish. Dr. Paul LehmanEndowed Chair of Music
The College of Arts & Sciences School of Music will host lectures with Endowed Chair in Music Education Dr. Paul Lehman, Nov. 6-8, Moody Music Building. Lehman will present “Inventions That Altered the Course of Music,” Nov. 6, 5:30 p.m., Recital Hall. Lehman is a consultant, lecturer, author, and former professor of music education. Social Work Colloquium
Dr. Charles Wilson, MSSW, executive director, Chadwick Center for Children and Families, Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego, will present “A Road Map to Evidence Based Practice – From Selection to Real World Implementation,” Nov. 5, noon, 104 little Hall, as part of the School of Social Work 2007-2008 Colloquium Series.
