Offices to Open Special Weekend Hours
Several offices/departments will be open special weekend hours this month. Action Card, financial aid, parking, student receivables, the University Supply Store (Ferguson and Tutwiler), and information technology help desk will be available to answer questions, help students, take deposits, sell permits, sell textbooks and take care of other business during the following days/times:

Aug. 18
Offices listed above: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Supply Store: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Information Technology: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Aug. 19
Offices listed above: 12:30-5 p.m.
Information Technology: noon-7 p.m.

The Office of Information Technology HelpDesk, 125 Gordon Palmer, will be available by phone (348-HELP) or in person. Also, Bama Dining will have many locations open, http://www.campusdish. com/en-US/CSS/Alabama.

WebCT and eLearning Courses
WebCT and eLearning courses are now available through myBama. Users can go to the eLearning channel on the myBama Academics tab, click on the arrow next to a semester, and see a list of their courses using either WebCT or eLearning. Once the user clicks on the course, he or she will be taken to the system used for that course. Fall 2007 WebCT and eLearning courses are now available. Instructors who do not see their fall courses should contact the administrative assistant in their department who works with course enrollment to request either WebCT or eLearning for their courses. TIAA-CREF Individual Counseling Sessions
A TIAA-CREF consultant will be on campus Aug. 21-23 and Sept. 18-20 to provide individual counseling about employees’ financial matters. Employees are encouraged to schedule appointments early by visiting the Web site at http://www.tiaacref. org/moc or by calling Mike Odom at (800) 842-2003, ext. 3522. All sessions will be held in G-54 Rose Administration.

Every Woman Book Club
The Everywoman Book Club, sponsored by the Women’s Resource Center, will discuss Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich, Aug. 23, noon, The Globe Restaurant, Northport. Ehrenreich, a professional writer and frequent contributor to Time, Harper's Magazine, The New Republic, The Nation, and The New York Times Magazine, went “undercover” and explored the lives of unskilled, underpaid workers. This book is an account of her journey.

Sixth Annual Fall Social Work Conference
The School of Social Work Fall Conference will feature Clarence N. Wood, president/ CEO of Jane Addams Hull House Association as the keynote speaker. The conference, jointly sponsored by School of Social Work and the Alabama Department of Human Resources, will be held Aug. 30- 31, Paul Bryant Conference Center.
