School’s (not) out for Summer: UA Coordinates Projects for High School Outreach
Many high school students look for summer jobs at the mall or community swimming pool, but 11 Tuscaloosa high school students are spending this summer in a UA laboratory working as interns researching nanoparticles. “There are 11 different projects, a unique project for each intern,” said Dr. Dave Nikles, UA professor of chemistry and materials science and coordinator of this year’s internship program. Interns are working with faculty from the departments of chemistry, chemical and biological engineering, physics and metallurgy at UA on their respective projects. |
