Technology in the Classroom: Faculty Turn to PodcastingBy Suzanne Dowling
In addition to listening to the latest from U2, Coldplay or Dave Matthews, UA students are also beginning to use their mobile devices such as iPods to listen to professors’ lectures or supplemental information for their classes. During this academic year, several UA faculty members have turned to “podcasting” to enhance their coursework. “Podcasts are, simply put, audio content that can be delivered to all manner of mobile devices such as MP3 players, iPods, PDAs/handhelds, and certain mobile cell phones,” said Dr. Anna McFadden, professor in the Institute for Interactive Technology in the College of Human Environmental Sciences. |
