UA Welcomes Outstanding Freshman Class; New Residential Community Opens
While final enrollment figures will be reported a few weeks into the semester, Dr. Roger Thompson, associate vice president for enrollment management, projects a significant increase in freshman enrollment. “We expect a freshman class of about 3,650 students, up from 3,364 last year – and the class will be more diverse than last year,” Thompson said. Total enrollment is projected to top last year as well, reaching at least 21,500. The freshman class includes a record number of 143 National Merit, National Achievement and National Hispanic Scholars, up from 94 in 2004 and 52 in 2003. More than 700 freshmen have enrolled in Honors College, also a record high. |
