RSA Receives Settlement from EnronThe Retirement System of Alabama has accepted a settlement agreement with the bankrupt energy trader Enron Corp., according to the latest RSA newsletter, “Advisor.” (UA employees should receive “Advisor” in the mail.) The newsletter is located on the Web at www.rsa.state.al.us. Enron has agreed to pay the RSA $49 million, or 89% of what was lost in investments. The RSA reports assets of $25 billion. Last fall, the RSA settled with bankrupt telecom company WorldCom Inc. The RSA supports the retirement of some 289,000 active and retired state workers. |
