Theatre and Dance Allen Bales Theatre — "The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek" The young people of the town feel trapped. The adults struggle with life during the Depression. Desperate for excitement, two teenagers plan to outrace the daily train as it crosses the trestle over the dry bed of Pope Lick Creek, but their plans and schemes awaken passions that threaten to be stifled by their limited options. This play, written by Kentucky native and MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant winner Naomi Wallace, blends humor and hope with suspense and insight to create an allegory of people trying to outrunforces greater than themselves. Performances are April 12- 17, 7:30 p.m. April 17 performance will be at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5. Morgan Auditorium — Dance Alabama! A dance experience for everyone - Dance Alabama! is a consistently eclectic, edgy, and energetic collection of student- choreographed work with styles that range from classical ballet to modern to contemporary. These performances will turn everyone into dance enthusiasts through their sheer exuberance and artistry. You will be amazed at the talent you witness onstage. Performances are April 12-15, 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Auditorium in Morgan Hall. Tickets are $12, $10, and $8. Gallaway Theatre — All's Well That Ends Well Love can make a person go to extraordinary lengths to capture another's heart. Helena loves Bertram, but he prefers military life to staying home with her; Diana also loves Bertram, but connives to return the wayward husband to his rightful place. The Bard returns to the mainstage with this comedy of romance, deception, and one woman's determination to convince her husband that they were meant to be together. With Shakespeare's inimitable mix of memorable characters, romantic intrigue, and ultimately happy conclusions, the Gallaway season will indeed end well. Performances are April 19- 24, 7:30 p.m. April 24 performance will be at 2 p.m. in Marian Gallaway Theatre, Rowand-Johnson Hall. Tickets are $12, $10, and $8.
