UA Wins CASE Awards for PR/Marketing Projects
"These awards are especially meaningful because they are given by our peers across the Southeast. They reflect well on the hard work, dedication and creativity of our staff," said Janet Griffith, UA assistant vice president for university relations. University Relations won four awards for "Opening Doors," the three-day event held in June 2003 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the desegregation of the University. These included an Award of Excellence for institutional relations programs, an Award of Excellence for institutional relations projects, an Award of Excellence for media relations projects and an Award of Excellence for a video produced for the event. University Relations also won an Award of Excellence in the CD-ROM publications category for the University's DVD viewbook, "Dream a little . . . achieve a lot." The Office of Marketing Communications won an Award of Excellence in the annual reports category for "For all generations to come: The University of Alabama Annual Report 2003." The Office of Broadcast Marketing and Media won an Award of Excellence for commercial video spots for a video titled "The Power of Dreams," and an Award of Special Merit for a video news release on food recycling. Alabama Heritage, a nonprofit magazine published by UA and the Alabama Department of Archives and History, won an Award of Excellence for magazines. |
