"Kickoff on the Quad" Opens 2003 Home Football Games

Now in its sixth season, UA's "Kickoff on the Quad" will once again offer pre-game activities before each Tuscaloosa football game, beginning with the Crimson Tide vs. Oklahoma game on Sept. 6. Activities begin three hours before kick off (6:45 p.m. on ESPN for Oklahoma game).

"Kickoff" facts include:

  • The Sept. 6 game against Oklahoma is an ESPN TV and radio Game Day.
     
  • The Oklahoma game is also the NOKIA Sugar Bowl Tour day.
     
  • Activities begin three hours prior to kickoff at every Tuscaloosa home football game.
     
  • A variety of food vendors will offer goodies, including barbecue, peanut candies, traditional foods such as sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers and Cajun foods.
     
  • Coca-Cola will sponsor an Interactive game area with inflatable games such as: Goal Line Bungee, Field Goal Kick, and Quarterback Toss.
     
  • The Million Dollar Band will warm-up on the steps of Gorgas Library before the Elephant Stomp to stadium, which begins about an hour before the game.
     
  • Eli Gold and Kenny Stabler will be at the Crimson Tide Sports Network pre-game show site.
     
  • Fans can visit the Legends Autograph tent and the Alabama Team tents.
     
  • The Supe Store will be set up with Crimson Tide clothing and souvenirs for sale.
