Reallocation Task Force Considers Goals and Priorities by Joanna C. Hutt With the Reallocation Task Force hard at work and the word "reallocation" being defined and analyzed around campus, many faculty and staff may wonder just exactly what the term means and why The University of Alabama is pursuing this process. Will "reallocation" mean layoffs, cuts in jobs, benefits, academic programs or public service activities? Or is it a process of setting goals and priorities for the University? UA officials say reallocation is a process that will allow the University to reach some of its major goals, and that it will do so without sacrificing faculty and staff jobs, or programs and services that help fulfill primary missions. |
