Curtains Going Up on 'Noises Off!'

UA’s department of theatre and dance continues its Marian Gallaway series with Michael Frayn’s sidesplitting farce "Noises Off!" This smash hit audience favorite will open Feb. 26 and run through March 3 with performances at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday on the Marian Gallaway stage. Tickets are general admission $12, seniors and faculty/staff $10, and students $8. Group rates are available. For more information, call 348-3400.

"Noises Off!", a farce within a farce, is a fast-paced comedy that will leave audiences aching from laughter as it follows a London theatre company’s production of "Nothing On." The stage is transformed into a virtual war zone as the battle-weary-stars-in-the-making find life on the road to be about as glamorous as a plate of sardines. Peder Melhuse, an actor previously seen as Alfieri in this season’s "A View from the Bridge," and new theatre and dance faculty member directs his first production at the University with one of the craziest comedies ever to hit the stage, "Noises Off!"
