Dr. Caroline Boxmeyer, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine, was selected as a fellow for the 2017-2018 SEC Academic Leadership Development Program. The program brings faculty fellows from each SEC campus to provide higher-education specific leadership and management training.
Dr. Susan L. Burkett, Alabama Power Foundation Endowed Professor in electrical and computer engineering, was named a 2016 American Vacuum Society Fellow. Fellows of the Society are AVS members who have made outstanding contributions in areas of interest to AVS. Burkett was chosen as a fellow for contributions in materials reliability and processing techniques for 3-D integration, and for leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and within the profession.
Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic, Law School, authored “Four Ironies of Campus Climate,” 101 Minnesota law Review 1919-1941 (2017).
Paul Horwitz, Law School, has been cited by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. The court cited his article “Act III of the Ministerial Exception,” 106 Northwestern University Law Review 973 (2012), at 979. He has also published “Positive Pluralism Now,” a review essay on John D. Inazu’s “Confident Pluralism: Surviving and Thriving Through Deep Difference” (University of Chicago Press , 2016), in 84 University of Chicago Law Review 999-1025 (2017).
Dr. Mercedes Morales-Aleman, community medicine and population health and the Institute for Rural Health Research, was one of 30 faculty nationwide selected for the National Institutes of Health’s Future Research Leaders Conference. During the conference, selected scientists will showcase their research and gain insights from NIH leadership and investigators about developing independent scientific careers.
