Gymnastics Team Takes Sixth NCAA Championship

 

On April 21 in Duluth, Ga., the Alabama Gymnastics Team won its sixth NCAA Championship and second in a row. It marked the first time in the Crimson Tide’s storied gymnastics history that Alabama has won back-to-back national championships. It also marked the University’s 20th national championship with the gymnasts team’s sixth title coming on the heels of the football team’s 14th, which was won on January 7 in New Orleans, La. with a 21-0 victory over LSU.

Since January of 2009 Alabama has won four national championships – 2 NCAA Gymnastics titles and 2 BCS Football Championships as well as 10 Southeastern Conference titles (Gymnastics – 2009 and 2011; Men’s Cross Country – 2009;  Football – 2010; Women’s Golf – 2010 and 2011; Men’s Golf – 2012; Softball – 2010, 2011 and 2012).
