CRIMSON COUCH TO 5K COORDINATORSCrimson Couch to 5K is an eight-week, team-based wellness and physical-activity program for UA faculty and staff. The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness is seeking volunteer coordinators from each college, school and division. E-mail wellness@ua.edu or call 348-0077 for more information.

CRIMSON RIDE ROUTE CHANGESCrimson Ride has implemented a number of route changes that make the system more efficient, user-friendly and environmentally friendly. The simplified routes allow for more buses on each route, which reduces passenger wait times and results in less fuel consumption. The changes include the following:

  • reduction in the total number of routes from eight to four (See map for route details.)
  • elimination of the fixed bus route on weekends (Weekend service will be available through 348-RIDE [7433].)
  • addition of a weekend shopping route on Sundays (1-6 p.m.), which will transport passengers to popular off-campus retail centers, such as Target, University Mall and Midtown Village

Crimson Ride users should continue to use the TransLoc website, which displays the movement of buses around campus in real time. TransLoc now offers a smart phone application.
